First branch of SAHAN founded as a small restaurant in Caddebostan in 1970 was opened in Plajyolu by current owner Tahir Tekin Öztan in 1984. Each link of SAHAN Restaurant chain was formed as a result of the combination of craft which was learned by a young entrepreneur from his master and family with innovative and creative ideas. SAHAN became the first implementer of many innovations in Turkey in food-beverages sector. During its history for about forty years, many innovations that seem to be ordinary today but was a first for that period of implementation were realized SAHAN. Use of dishwashers in restaurants, photocell controlled taps, automatic doors, take-out foods with motor vehicle are only few examples for those innovations...

As Sahan was owned by a young and innovative entrepreneur, growth and development was inevitable. Acıbadem SAHAN in 1992, Suadiye SAHAN in 1994, Ataşehir SAHAN Vega in 2003 and Şirehan and Yemişhan, historical inns of Gaziantep, joined SAHAN and SAHAN RESTAURANT was opened. Şirehan Hotel came into service in 2013. Finally, in 2014 SAHAN continues to provide services to its customers with Kurtkoy branch.
